Now you have set down
and perched with me
upon a page that we might
take a journey together

In my mind I see us
arm in arm as we set out,
- and
I look over and see your
curious smile
which, of course, causes
me to smile with you

You never know when we
begin where we might go

Perhaps we will travel
to a foreign land
or a foreign time
or maybe we'll just
hang out together
on the back porch,

swinging

It could just be a simple
ride in the car
pondering life and roses,
sunshine and wispy clouds

It is altogether possible
that we may sing
to one another a
song of unrequited love

These are all questions
to answer
or at the very least
consider
as we travel
through a poem

As we set off
we must also ask
about our mode
of transportation

Will we travel in rhyme
and meter or just
meander with each other

down the page, in a

      slow

		arhythmic
